Susan Dingwall is a dispute resolution lawyer who leads our commercial, financial institutions and regulatory disputes team in London. She specialises in commercial disputes.

Susan’s practice is focused primarily on property risks, financial risks, political risks, and trade and credit risks. She also advises on professional liability matters.

Susan appears in Euromoney’s Women in Business Law and its Guide to the World’s Leading Insurance & Reinsurance Lawyers. She is described in Legal 500 2008 as a “prudent, commercial and proactive” partner on negligence matters and as “exceptional” in insurance and reinsurance. Chambers UK 2010 praises Susan for her “fantastic knowledge displayed across a range of insurance and reinsurance disputes.” Legal 500 2012 describes Susan as having a “calm and confident manner”. She also writes and speaks frequently at conferences in the UK and abroad.

Susan also leads our takaful (Islamic Insurance) practice which has won Best Takaful Law Firm at the International Takaful Summit every year since the award was first made in 2008. She also appears in Islamic Finance News’ Leading Lawyers for 2011 and 2012. Susan regularly advises clients on a range of disputes in the Middle East.

Susan is dual qualified in English and Scots law. She is a graduate of both Strathclyde University and Southampton University.
