Mr. Omar Sheikh has over 15 years of banking experience across various segments and countries. Mr. Omar holds MBA from the University of Nairobi and is also a Certified Islamic Finance Executive.

It was while in Barclays that Omar founded the first Islamic product in Kenya which grew to a full-fledged department. He earned several awards while in Barclays including the prestigious Barclays Group PLC chairman’s award. He later joined and led First community bank based in Kenya for 2 years and grew it from a tier 4 bank to a tier 3 bank. The bank won several awards both local and international due the transformational programs initiated by Omar.

He joined Takaful Insurance of Africa in March 2016 and is now under taking transformational programs including market approach to value based proposition for the high net worth customers and the development of products tailor made for women.
