Jaiz Takaful Insurance was incorporated on 31st January,2014 to transact Family Takaful and the Halal option of Pension Schemes and to transact in all classes of Non-Life Insurance such as Marine (Cargo ,Hull and Liabilities), Fire, Motor, Accident, Aviation, Engineering, Property, Oil and Gas, Health,Micro-Insurance, among others.

Jaiz Takaful Insurance Plc is almost wholly owned by Jaiz Charity and Development Foundation. The latter was established by Jaiz Bank Plc as the vehicle by which the Bank’s interest earnings and other doubtful incomes are used for charitable and developmental purposes

Jaiz Bank Plc is the first Non-Interest Bank in Nigeria ,with over 20,000 Muslim and Christian shareholders, including high networth individuals(with investments in Nigeria, Africa and beyond) and Institutionalised Investors like Dr. Umaru Abdul Mutallab (the Chairman), Dr. Aminu Dantata, Islamic Development Bank, Dangote Industries Limited and Dr. Muhammadu Indimi The Bank, which is run in compliance with Shari’ah principles, commenced operations on 6th January 2012.

Jaiz Takaful Insurance Plc will leverage into the huge market in Nigeria (whose Muslim population is about 80 million) and into Sub-Saharan Africa and the attraction of the Country and region to potential private and institutionalised takaful investors including Non-Muslims who are after ethical insurance and investments are its selling point.

Investments of the contributed funds,to guarantee adequate returns to stakeholders, will be in Liquid Cash,in Equity, Sukuk and Real Estates especially of the commercial genre.

In addition to a Board of Directors consisting of experienced professionals and accomplished businessmen,it has a Sharia Advisory Board of eminent insurance practioners/ Sharia Scholars to advise and support the company’s products

The company will insha Allahu commence operation, very soon,as the first Takaful Company in Nigeria,as soon as it obtains the licence from the Country’s Insurance Regulator
