Chakib Abouzaid has 27 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry (Conventional, Takaful and Retakaful) with concentration on MENA and Far East markets. Currently, he is the Chief Marketing Officer- Reinsurance for GroupMed Reinsurance Brokers (GMRB).
- 2005 until January 2013: Takaful Re’ s Chief Executive Officer; he joined Takaful Re at its infant stage contributing actively to the launch, building and enhancing portfolio.
- 2009 – 2012: Vice Chairman of the Global Takaful Group (GTG); and Board member of the Federation Of Islamic Insurance and Takaful Companies (FOIITC);
- 2000-2005: Board member of Aman Takaful Insurance in Lebanon and General Manager of BEST Re-Middle East & Gulf.
- 1988-2000, served in various senior managerial positions within Best Re.
Chakib Abouzaid is also lecturer in reinsurance and speaker at various seminars and conferences focusing on development of Takaful, insurance and Retakaful / reinsurance.
He is holder of a Master degree in Finance/ insurance and a Master degree in Economics
