Currently Managing Director at Egyptian Takaful Life, a position he has assumed since March 2011. The company is a member of the Gulf Insurance group and he has the strategic aim of positioning the company as a market leader introducing the finest sharia complaint insurance products and changes the perception of life insurance in the eyes of the Egyptian market.

His professional career is characterized by diversity in way of tackling of obstacles/challenges, setting up businesses being a founding member of the companies he joined, Previously held the position of Director of Corporate Affairs at CIL after successfully establishing the Finance Department. Prior to that he worked at Arab International Bank in supervisory roles

Abdel Shakour received a bachelor’s in accounting from Cairo University in 1987 and a modern accounting certification from The American University in Cairo (1995). He completed his management certification from Henely Management College, London, UK in October 2002.
