Mr. Kotb is the Chairman of the Insurance Federation of Egypt since the year 2008. He is the Chairman of the Federation of Afro-Asian Insurance and Reinsurance “FAIR” since 2011 . He is also Board Member of international Federation of Takaful and Islamic  companies since 2005. He has Contributed to the development of the insurance and reinsurance Industry in the Egyptian Market as well as the African continent as he has occupied several positions on local and regional levels including:

1. He is the Managing Director of Egyptian Saudi Insurance House, Egypt the First Takaful Insurance Co. in the Egyptian Market.
2. He is  Board Member of Salama Takaful Insurance Co ., Algeria
3. He is Board Member of Salama Takaful Insurance Co., Senegal .
4. He is Board Member of Faculty of Commerce , Cairo university .
5. He is Board Member of Financial Services Institute, Egypt .

He has over 45 years experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry spanning across insurance operations: underwriting; claims; reinsurance; product development and distribution; capacity building by way of rendering technical assistance and training. He gained a great deal of practical knowledge of international reinsurance markets through participation in international conferences for insurance and reinsurance and contacts with leading figures in these markets. Mr Kotb has authored and edited a series of lectures delivered as a Reinsurance Course for the Students of the Faculty of Commerce, Kuwait University, 1991/1992. He is co-author of ‘Fire & General Accident Insurance’, published by the Public Authority for Applied Education & Training, College of Commercial Studies , Kuwait 1986. Mr Kotb has spoken widely on the most important issues and topics related to takaful and traditional insurance industry and consults regularly with trade associations, and regulators. His work has been reported widely in the media.
