Steven McEwan is Partner-Elect at Hogan Lovells. He has advised on insurance law and regulation since 2002, specialising in matters involving prudential regulation, reinsurance and insurance finance. He has also advised extensively on risk mitigation arrangements, with-profits regulation and the Lloyd's of London insurance market, and he has worked on numerous reinsurance, capital markets and financing transactions and Part VII transfers.

Steven is co-author of the chapter on the regulation of long-term insurance in "A Practitioner's Guide to the Regulation of Insurance" (Sweet & Maxwell, 2011) and he has published a number of articles on Solvency II and other aspects of insurance regulation. He speaks regularly at conferences and client training events, including a recent lecture given to the British Insurance Law Association on investment rules applicable to insurers.
