A Political Science and Journalism graduate from University of Queensland, Ridwan is a financial journalist who is very pro-active in promoting debate and discussion about Islamic Insurance around the world through his incisive coverage of the key issues affecting Takaful today.

Currently serving as a Takaful Correspondent with Asia Insurance Review and its sister publication, Middle East Insurance Review - the only magazine dedicated to tracking the global development of Takaful - Ridwan has taken part in several domestic, regional and international conferences relating to Takaful. He has also organised several roundtables with focussed discussion on Shariah and insurance rules and regulations and challenges facing the growth and development of Takaful. In his year-long stint with the magazine, he has interviewed and interacted with over 100 leading CEOs, regulators and personalities who shape and influence the growth of Takaful. Recognised as an expert, he has also appeared on BBC to talk about Islamic finance and takaful matters as well as chaired the High Level Shariah Panel at the 5th Asian Takaful Conference in Singapore in March 2010.

Before joining Middle East Insurance Review, Ridwan worked as Senior Writer at Smart Investor magazine responsible for reporting on financial markets and Singapore-listed companies.
