Hans De Cuyper is Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of Mayban Ageas (formerly known as Mayban Fortis), comprising of Etiqa Insurance Bhd and Etiqa Takaful Bhd.

As Chief Executive Officer of Mayban Ageas, Hans helms a company of 2,200 staff and leads the growth and expansion of Etiqa locally and internationally. Etiqa is a RM24.4 billion in total assets company. It is a true multi-channel distributor of insurance and takaful products via its 21,000 agency force, 33 insurance and takaful branches, more than 407 Maybank branches, ATMs and other third-party banks, providing full accessibility and total convenience to customers, unmatched by any other.

Previously, Hans was Chief Financial Officer of Maybank Ageas. His in-depth knowledge in financial matters comes from more than 19 years of experience in the insurance industry. He has held various management positions such as Director Risk Management for ING Insurance Belgium, Director of Insurance Management for Fortis Insurance International (Hong Kong) and Managing Director of Risk & Finance Asia for Fortis Insurance International (Hong Kong).

Hans graduated with a Master Degree in Mathematical Sciences followed by a Master Degree in Actuarial Sciences from Catholic University Leuven, Belgium. He later obtained an Executive MBA in Financial Services Industry in a joint programme by three universities namely Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School, Belgium; University of Nijenrode, The Netherlands; and University of St.Gallen, Switzerland.
