CURRENT RESPONSIBILITY

Debo is the Lead and managing consultant in the Dubai, UAE, office serving Middle East, Africa and South Asia. He joined Milliman early summer of 2008.

EXPERIENCE

Before joining Milliman, Debo worked for a subsidiary life insurance company of AIG and was the Chief Actuary for that company in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia region, based in Dubai for six years. In that role, he oversaw all actuarial functions in strategic decisions, product development, distribution and marketing, financial reporting, review of M&A proposals, etc. He was the appointed actuary for several countries in the region.

Prior to that Debo worked for 12 years with life insurance companies in Canada in product development, marketing, agency support, software development, and financial reporting. He has strong background in modeling for dynamic solvency testing/dynamic capital adequacy testing.

He was instrumental in the success of the actuarial science program at Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, B.C.

PUBLICATIONS AND RESEARCH

At University of Waterloo, Debo developed routines for Professor Phelim Boyle for the valuation of options on multiple securities. He was acknowledged in The Review of Financial Studies for his contribution to the topic of Numerical Evaluation of Multivariate Contingent Claims. Debo served on the editorial team of the first edition of Options, Futures and Other Derivatives by John Hall, and was acknowledged in that edition.

He also served on a team of four that developed the Solutions Manual to the text.
