Abid leads the Banking, Capital Markets and Takaful teams at Ernst & Young’s Islamic Financial Services Advisory team based in Bahrain. He is a contributor to the annual World Takaful Report written by Ernst & Young and works closely with Regulators, Takaful Operators as well as Shariah Scholars.

Prior to joining Ernst & Young, Abid was the Managing Director of Ijma & Qiyas Consultants based in the UK. Clients included Takaful companies and their outsourcing partners, global and regional banks with Islamic banking operations.

Before moving into Consultancy, Abid held senior executive roles at Takaful and Banking institutions in the UK and brings extensive knowledge across front, middle and back office functions.

Abid continues to be a member of the Technical Group for the Islamic Finance Qualification at the Chartered Institute Securities & Investments as well as a member of the senior practitioners at the UK Islamic Finance Secretariat working to develop the Islamic Finance industry in the UK.
